Fluorides removal from wastewater

Sorbster® F-1 media is a promoted alumina media that covalently bonds fluoride to its active sites. The presence of proprietary promoted reactive chemistries throughout the media boost fluorides removal. It effectively removes fluoride across a broad pH range of 3 to 9 with the highest removal rates typically occurring between pH 5 to pH 7, maximizing removal efficiency vs. competitors.

In some industrial applications, Fluoride has a detrimental effect on electrolytic generating cells. Reduced service life, fouling and degradation of performance can be minimized or reversed by adding Sorbster® F-1 to remove soluble Fluoride.

The MCLG for fluoride is 4.0 mg/L, or 4.0 ppm.

The EPA has also set a secondary standard (SMCL) for fluoride at 2.0 mg/L, or 2.0 ppm. Secondary standards are non-enforceable guidelines regulating contaminants that may cause cosmetic effects (such as skin or tooth discoloration) or aesthetic effects (such as taste, odor, or color) in drinking water.
